Project Projects designed the catalogue and exhibition graphics for this experimental exhibition, a collaboration between artist Amy Patton and curator Christina Linden. “About the Object” examines and thematizes the responses of art viewers to ambiguous museological presentations. The exhibition is organized as a series of object installations that correspond to chapters in a book, which functions both an active guide to the show and a self-reflexive object in its own right. Two distinct page formats differentiate between the objects' representation and the texts that accompany them. As Patton and Linden write, “The project is an experiment with object arrangements as a form of essay writing and also with writing as a way of arranging objects.”
